The 2025 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland will prioritize five key themes:
2016 – Mastering the Fourth Industrial Revolution
artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles and the internet of things are merging with humans’ physical lives. There are three reasons why today’s transformations represent not merely a prolongation of the Third Industrial Revolution but rather the arrival of a Fourth and distinct one: velocity, scope, and systems impact.
2017 – Responsive and Responsible Leadership
In the past decade, households in 25 advanced economies that experienced falling or flat disposable income were 10 times more numerous than in the period between 1993 and 2005. Today’s generation of twenty-somethings is likely to end up poorer than their parents.
2018 – Creating a shared future in a fractured world
International collaboration as a way of solving critical global challenges. The plan is to bring together global economic and political leaders to find collective actions and collaborative approaches to solving global problems. The aim of the meeting will be to set an agenda that drives greater multi-stakeholder collaboration to address political, economic and societal challenges of our times
2019 – Responsive and Responsible Leadership
The future, once a promised inheritance, now burdens young people with a heavy debt. This stark reality is evident in Europe and the United States, where today’s twenty-somethings face the grim prospect of a lower standard of living than their parents.
2020 – Stakeholders for a Cohesive and Sustainable World
The Davos Manifesto 2020 champions stakeholder capitalism, outlining a vision that addresses critical contemporary challenges. These include fair taxation, zero tolerance for corruption, equitable executive compensation, and unwavering respect for human rights.
2022 – Working Together, Restoring Trust
The first in-person gathering since the pandemic, the 2022 Annual Meeting prioritized rebuilding global cooperation. Key agenda items included economic rebalancing, social equity, global health, environmental sustainability, industrial transformation, and technological innovation, alongside crucial discussions on governance and cybersecurity.
2023 – Cooperation in a Fragmented World
Amidst a world increasingly divided, the 2023 Annual Meeting brought together leaders from government, business, and civil society. They engaged in constructive dialogue, exploring critical global challenges and identifying priorities for the year ahead, while emphasizing the importance of public-private cooperation to find effective solutions.
2024 – Rebuilding Trust
The 54th Annual Meeting served as a critical platform to address the erosion of trust. By focusing on fundamental principles like transparency, consistency, and accountability, the forum aimed to rebuild trust and foster a more collaborative and equitable global landscape.
